gd 1.8.1
Mark <mark@ibiblio.org>
What is it (from the web page):
gd 1.8.1 is a graphics library. It allows your code to quickly draw images
complete with lines, arcs, text, multiple colors, cut and paste from other
images, and flood fills, and write out the result as a PNG or JPEG file.
This is particularly useful in World Wide Web applications, where PNG and
JPEG are two of the formats accepted for inline images by most browsers.
gd is not a paint program.
gd does not provide for every possible desirable graphics operation. It is
not necessary or desirable for gd to become a kitchen-sink graphics package,
but version 1.8.1 incorporates most of the commonly requested features for
an 8-bit 2D package.

Solaris Issues
I've locked each package to the Solaris release it was built on. Only install
the correct version for your system.
Note that this package was compiled with the X11R6.x software available on this site installed
on the production machine. This means that to sucessfully use this software you need
to install the X11 package as well, or create some X11 library links as mentioned in
the README.
Click here to read about the 32 bit and 64 bit Solaris 7 and 8 packages.
Source Code
You can download the source code from
ftp://ftp.boutell.com/pub/boutell/gd/gd-1.8.1.tar.gz
Special Issues
As previously mentioned, also install the X11R6.4 package to ensure the required libraries are available.
See the main packages README for installation information.
