             These files contain the Resource CDROM data
             which supports the following Machine Type/Models 
             of IBM eserver xSeries 382 Type 8834.

    3.0   Installation and Setup Instructions
    -----------------------------------------

      3.1   Download and Media Creation. 
  
         3.1.1 To Build a CD, do the following:
                 1.  Download the "iso" image of the xSeries 382 Resource CD
                     from http://www.pc.ibm.com/support
                 2.  Create a CD using instructions at following url: 
                     from http://www.pc.ibm.com/qtechinfo or other CD creation Application.

        
 
      3.2  To Run the Platform Diagnostics, do the following:

            1. Insert the xSeries 382 Resource CD into the  CD-ROM drive before
               booting to the EFI Shell.  Boot the system into the EFI Shell. The EFI CD Menu
               program launches automatically.  If the EFI CD Menu program does not launch
               into the EFI shell, mount and map to the CD drive and type startup; then, press
               Enter to launch the EFI CD Menu.

            2. From the menu tab, use the arrow keys to navigate the Utility menu and
               press Enter or down arrow key to expand the menu.

            3. From  the Utility menu, use the down arrow key to Platform Diagnostics and press
               Enter to launch the Diagnostic Menu.

         To run one or more of the diagnostic tests, select Test setup from the Platform test
         menu.  Use the up and down arrow keys to first select a test, then press Q for a
         quick test,  C for a complete test, or D to disable the test.  When a test is enabled,
         the word 'Quick' or 'Complete ' appears next to the test under the 'Coverage'
         column.  If a test is disabled, the word 'Disabled' appears under that Coverage column.   
         An individual test may be executed up to nine times for each of the test suites.  With 
         the test highlighted, pressing a single digit 1 to 9 on the keyboard sets the number of
         iterations for an individual test.

         NOTE: Further description of the Diagnostic Tests and how to execute them
               are on the xSeries 382 Resource CD.             
                      

       
       3.3  Running other Utilities on the Resource CD

           1.  Follow the instructions on the Resource CD and the Hardware Maintenance Manual for
