SiS(R) 630 video driver for Windows 98/Me
version 1.08 README

This package installs an update to the Microsoft(R) Windows(R)
98/Me device driver for the SiS 630 Integrated Video driver that
comes preinstalled in your IBM(R) computer. This update
requires approximately 52 MB of space on your hard disk (drive C).

This update package is intended for IBM Aptiva 2197-xxx as well as
IBM NetVista 2179-xxx, 2197-xxx, and 6643-xxx systems that come
with SiS 630 video on the system board.

Print this file so that you can refer to it during the installation.


Downloading the update
----------------------
1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page.
2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save
   the downloaded file.


Installing the update
---------------------
1.  Click Start, highlight Find, then click Files and folders.
2.  Type qo4z12us.exe in the search box, then click Find Now.
    This will locate the qo4z12us.exe file you just downloaded. 
3.  Double-click the icon for qo4z12us.exe.
4.  Click Next.
5.  Click I accept the terms in the license agreement.
6.  Click Next.
7.  Ensure that Save files in folder is set to
    C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\QO4Z12US.
8.  Click Next.
9.  Follow the onscreen prompts and choose to reboot at the end of
    installation.


Testing for successful installation
-----------------------------------
1.  Click Start, highlight Settings, then click Control Panel.
2.  Double-click System.
3.  Click the Device Manager tab.
4.  Click the + sign to the left of the words "Display adapters".
5.  Highlight SiS 630.
6.  Click Properties.
7.  Click the Driver tab.
8.  Click Driver File Details.
9.  Highlight C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SIS630M.DRV.
10. Verify that the file version is 4.12.01.1080.
