WHAT THIS PACKAGE DOES

  This package installs the software (ThinkPad Wireless USB Software)
  to enable the following device.

  - Lenovo Wireless USB

  Refer to marketing materials to find out what ThinkPad models
  support which device.

  If this package has been installed, updating (overwrite-installing)
  this package will fix problems, add new functions, or expand
  functions as noted below.

  This program is language independent and can be used with any
  language system.

DETERMINING WHICH VERSION IS INSTALLED

  1. Double-click Wireless USB task tray icon, then Wireless USB
     Control Center will be opened.
  2. Click Wireless USB icon at the top-left of the window, and click
     "About Wireless USB Control Center".
  3. Check the version displayed in the pop-up. Click OK button to
     close the pop-up window.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Notes:
  If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to
  update the software. To determine if you should update the software,
  refer to the Version Information section.


Manual Install

 [Update install]
  1. Run setup.exe.
     On Windows Vista, User Account Control pop-up may open. Click
     "Continue" button.
  2. A pop-up window will open that asks you if you want to upgrade
     the software. Click 'Yes' to continue.
  3. In "Welcome to..." window, just click "Next>" button.
  4. Setup program will perform the upgrade installation.
  5. When finished installation, click "Finish" button.

 [Clean install]
  1. Run setup.exe.
     On Windows Vista, User Account Control pop-up may open. Click
     "Continue" button.
  2. In "Welcome to..." window, just click "Next>" button.
  3. In "License Agreement" window, read the License Agreement, select
     "I accept the term in the license agreement" and click "Next>"
     button.
  4. In Customer Information window, enter any information and click
     "Next>" button.
  5. In Distination Folder window, just click "Next>" button.
  6. In "Ready to Instal" window, click "Install" button.
  7. In case Digital Signature warning message appears, click
     "Continue Anyway" button (Windows XP) or "Install this driver
     software anyway" (Windows Vista).
  8. When finished installation, click "Finish" button.
  9. You may asked to restart the system when complete installation.
     Click "OK" button and restart the system.


Unattended Install

  This is for system administrators' use only.

  1. Start Windows and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Click Start, select All Programs, select Accessories, then click
     Command Prompt.
  3. At the command line, execute setup.exe with following options.
     Setup.exe /S /v"/qn ALLUSERS=1 /skipwarning"

UNINSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

 [On Windows XP]
  1. Click "Start", then click "Control Panel".
  2. Click "Add or Remove Programs".
  3. Select "Lenovo Wireless USB".
  4. Click "Remove" button.
  5. Click "Yes" button on the confirmation pop-up.
 
 [On Windows Vista]
  1. Click "Start", then click "Control Panel".
  2. Click "Programs / Uninstall a program".
  3. Select "Lenovo Wireless USB".
  4. Click "Uninstall" button.
  5. Click "Yes" button on the confirmation pop-up.
  6. User Account Control pop-up may open. When it opens, click 'Allow'
     to continue uninstallation.


  Note:
  When you uninstall the ThinkPad Wireless USB Software, if you want
  to delete the device information you associated with your ThinkPad,
  remove the device information before uninstallation with the
  procedure below.

  1. Double click Task Tray icon to open Wireless USB Control Center.
  2. Click "Devices" tab.
  3. Select one of the Wireless USB device displayed.
  4. Click "Security Setup" at the bottom of the selected device.
  5. Click "Remove" button.
  6. Click "Yes" button on the Device Deletion Confirmation dialog.
  7. Repeat 3 to 6 for all the devices you want to remove.
