Product Specifications Overview -------- TPS/Frame Relay Support for SCO UnixWare 7 (hereafter referred to as TPS/Frame Relay) is an adapter-based solution for accessing a Frame Relay network directly from a given computer. This can eliminate the need for routing devices or FRAD's, and is especially useful when the computer is running TPS/Frame Relay is the primary or only recipient of the network traffic at any one location. TPS/Frame Relay works in conjunction with the device driver products provided in the TPS/ARTIC Support for SCO UnixWare 7 that provide the HDLC communications protocols. TPS/Frame Relay is based completely on the open standards of RFC1490 and FRF 3.1 for complete interoperability with other Frame Relay equipment. Highlights: TPS/Frame Relay provides support for TCP/IP using the native UnixWare 7 TCP/IP stack and supports both routing and bridging of TCP/IP. -- IP support (based on RFC1490) -- non-SNAP IP encapsulation (Routed Frames) -- SNAP IP encapsulation (Bridged Frames) TPS/Frame Relay provides support for SNA using the IBM eNetwork Communications Server for UnixWare 7 (CS/UnixWare) product. -- SNA support(based on FRF 3.1) -- Boundary Network Node (BNN) support (Routed Frames) -- Boundary Access Node (BAN) support (Bridged Frames) ARTIC Adapters, Cables and Protocols Supported ---------------------------------------------- - IBM ARTIC X.25 PCI Adapter - IBM ARTIC X.25 ISA Adapter - IBM ARTIC186 8-Port Adapter - IBM ARTIC186 8-Port PCI Adapter One port of either - RS-232 @ 56 Kbps Frame Relay/HDLC - V.35 @ 56 Kbps Frame Relay/HDLC - IBM ARTIC186 Model II ISA/PCI Adapter One port of either - RS-232 @ 56 Kbps Frame Relay/HDLC - V.35 @1.544Mbps Frame Relay/HDLC Six ports of - V.35 @ 9.6 Kbps Frame Relay/HDLC Eight ports of - RS-232 @ 9.6 Kbps Frame Relay/HDLC Software Requirements --------------------- - SCO UnixWare 7, Release 7.1 or later - TPS/ARTIC Support for SCO UnixWare 7 (a component in this package) - IBM eNetwork Communications Server for UnixWare 7, Version 5.0.2 (for SNA support) Latest Software Updates ----------------------- The latest software updates can be downloaded from the Web at: http://www.pc.ibm.com/us/support/options/artic.html Related Publications -------------------- ARTIC publications can be downloaded from the Web at: http://www.pc.ibm.com/us/support/options/artic.html 2.
