DESCRIPTION: This release provides updated system ROM images
for the latest maintenance releases of HP
               DL360 G3 Servers.

New Features -

        ProLiant DL360 G3 ROM P31 (07/04/2003)
        ============================================

Added support for the latest Intel Xeon Processor.

Added message during POST when a system battery failure is detected.
Previously, the system would simply go back to default settings
in this condition. This should help customers and service more
easily troubleshoot issues with systems losing their configuration
settings due to failed system batteries.

Added a ROM Based Setup Utility (RBSU) Advanced Option to modify
processor performance settings. HP has determined that some
applications may benefit by modifying the "CPU Performance Settings."
Based on the type of application run on the server, this setting may
impact system performance. The system is optimized for memory
	   by default.

Changed RBSU default settings to disable the Virtual Install Disk.

Problems Fixed -

        ProLiant DL360 G3 ROM P31 (07/04/2003)
        ============================================

Resolved a potential problem that could result in the total loss of
keyboard functionality after a system reset or "warm boot."
Prior to this fix, the keyboard might have appeared to be unconnected
after a warm reset. Keyboard functionality would only be returned after
	   a power cycle the server.

Resolved a potential NMI "blue screen" that could occur when loading the
System Management driver while the Operating System is booting.

Resolved an extremely rare case where a system could report a
"PCI Bus Parity Error - Slot 0" early during POST on a
system configured with a PCI Video Controller in an expansion slot
or a RILOE II in an expansion slot. This condition can only occur
if the system is powered on immediately after AC power is applied
to the system (the condition could occur if AC power
is lost during system operation and later restored).

Added warning message in RBSU when Linux is selected in the OS Selection
menu which indicates (NOTE: This issue is only relevant to uniprocessor
systems with the Intel Xeon 3.06 GHz processor with 1 Mbyte L3 cache
performing an initial installation of Red Hat Linux 8.0): "The system
has detected a single Intel Xeon 3.06 GHz processor with a 1 MB L3 cache.
If you are installing Red Hat Linux 8.0 with this configuration, the
installation may fail. This issue can be avoided in two ways. You
can disable the MPS Table (via Advanced Options\MPS Table Mode option)
prior to the install and re-enable upon completion. Alternatively,
you can download an updated Red Hat 8.0 installation diskette image
from the HP website. Please read the RTF card that came with your
system and/or processor or check the HP website for more information.
This issue only affects the installation process of Red Hat 8.0 and
does not affect any other version of Linux."

Resolved an potential lockup that could occur when A/C power is removed
and reapplied to a running server with one 3.06 GHz Intel Xeon Processor
with 1MB L3 Cache and no keyboard.
