If you require CrownAdmin 2 on some media other than CD-ROM, contact your QMS vendor for purchase information. You can also download CrownAdmin 2 via our World Wide Web Server at http://www.qms.com, our Bulletin Board at (334) 633-3632, or CompuServe at go qmsprint Installation ------------ 1 Insert the CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive. >> Note: Some drives require that the disk be placed in a caddy before being inserted in the drive. Check your CD-ROM drive documentation for information. 2 Logon the UNIX system as root. 3 Type the following command to go to the root directory: cd / 4 If you already have a directory on the system named cdrom, skip to step 5. If you don't have a directory on the system named cdrom, type the following command to make one: mkdir /cdrom 5 Mount the CD-ROM file system: mount -r -t hsfs device_filename /cdrom For device_filename substitute the complete pathname of the device associated with the CD-ROM drive. On SunOS systems, device_filename is usually /dev/sr0. If it isn't, check your SunOS system documentation. 6 Verify that the CD-ROM file system has been mounted by listing the contents of the directory: ls /cdrom The directory contains several subdirectories, including unix. 7 Change to the location in which you want the CrownAdmin 2 directory to be created. >> Note: The directory in which crnadm.exe resides must be able to be mounted by all network nodes that need to access the printer. 8 Extract the files from the CD-ROM: tar xvf /cdrom/unix/crnadm2/sunos/sunos.tar This creates a crnadm directory containing CrownAdmin 2. 9 Unmount the CD-ROM file system: umount device_filename For device_filename, substitute the complete pathname of the device file associated with the CD-ROM drive. 10 Add the name of the directory containing crnadm (the directory in which you extracted the sunos.tar file) to your path. 11 Refer to the "QMS CrownNet Setup Guide" to configure the CrownNet interface and the network. 12 Run CrownAdmin 2 by typing ./crnadm >> Note: See the on-line user's guide for more information on CrownAdmin 2 (from the Help menu in the main CrownAdmin 2 window choose Contents).
