Digi LAN Connect 3200 Series Print Server PROM Upgrade All 3200 series print servers ship with 4 meg PROM chips. (reasons for purchasing 4 meg PROM chips on the 3200 are unsuccessful flash upgrades on both firmware banks, unable to to flash upgrade, or would rather purchase chips than flash. 1.) unplug power to Fastport print server 2.) remove Phillips headed screws on front (sides of printing ports) 3.) if MIL-43xx micro module is present then remove the Phillips headed screws right of the UTP port 4.) if MIL-43xx micro module is present then gently pry on both sides of the rectangular plate to remove the micro module 5.) push with finger on UTP port 6.) don't move any jumpers 7.) remove HIGH and LOW PROM chips with chip puller (or binder clip, using more pulling action than prying action) 8.) locate LOW slot (written on board), locate cut corner on LOW prom chip, then evenly and firmly press the chip into place. 9.) locate HIGH slot (written on board), locate cut corner on HIGH prom chip, then evenly and firmly press the chip into place. 10.) reassemble: slide in board, if MIL-43xx slide in to middle of receptor, if MIL-43xx replace screws on rear, front screws, network, and power Send Replaced Prom chips by regular mail to: Digi International Technical Support Department Attention: Lyle Wallace 1299 Orleans Drive Sunnyvale, CA. 94089 For Technical Support with any questions or comments call: (408) 744-2751 (408) 744-2771 Fax (408) 744-2790 Fax support@milan.com
