MICROSOFT WINDOWS 3.1 Intelligent DigiBoard Device Driver Uninstalling the Software To remove the DigiBoard Windows device driver, follow these steps: 1. Start the DigiBoard Configuration program from the Control Panel. 2. Remove each board from the "Installed Boards" box by clicking on the board, then clicking on the "Remove" button. 3. Click on the "OK" button, and save the changes to the SYSTEM.INI file. When asked if you want to restart Windows, click on the "Don’t Restart Now" button. 4. Use Windows Notepad to edit the SYSTEM.INI file (this should be in your main Windows directory). comm.drv=comm.drv NOTE: Substitute your Windows system path for c:\windows\system above, if appropriate. Example: c:\w31\system 5. Find the comm.drv entry in the [boot] section of the SYSTEM.INI file. and change it from: comm.drv=C:\windows\system\dbcomm.drv to: comm.drv=comm.drv Note: Substitute your Windows system path for c:\windows\system above if appropriate. Example: c:\w31\system 6. Find the vrcd.386, vdbcd.386 and vuart.386, entries in the [386Enh] section of your SYSTEM.INI file, and delete all three entries. 7. At this point, you have uninstalled the driver so it won’t be loaded when you restart Windows. If you wish to delete the driver files from your hard drive, continue with the following steps: 8. When you installed the drivers, you were prompted for two paths: your Windows path, and a path where you wanted the DigiBoard software copied. If you elected to use the default path, the files were installed in C:\WINDOWS\DIGIBRD. Whatever the actual path, the files placed in the directory include: README.TXT DGCONFIG.EXE DGCONFIG.HLP Delete all files from your DigiBoard directory and remove the directory. 9. Remove the following files from your SYSTEM directory: DBCOMM.DRV DGCTRLPN.CPL VDBCD.386 VRCD.386 VUART.386 10. You may also delete the [LogPorts] and [DigiBoard] entries from SYSTEM.INI, and the [digiboard] section from WIN.INI.
