What is considered "cheating"?
Every cheat is obviously strictly forbidden.
Players who do use severe cheats w/o claiming that they have done so,
will loose all their entries.
I cannot give you an abstract definition of cheat, just some examples:
- Do not use -TURBO
iD software considers -TURBO as cheat in single player mode
- Do not use cheat codes
- Do not use a changed game engine!
The only exception is that you may disable the [q] key which stops recording.
- Do not use a changed wad file
- Do not change the LMP after recording!
Exceptions: you may remove pauses,
you may add waiting to the endscreen,
you may convert a LMP from an older game engine to the newest one.
- Do not use programs which give you
unfair advantage while playing
i.e.
- do not record in slowmotion!
- do not use strafe50 mouse drivers
Recordings which were played using a strafe50
mousedriver will not enter the pacifist collection, though the older ones
are considered valid COMPET-N entries.
Note:
Using spinning utilities like dks and dms is NOT considered cheating in
COMPET-N. Therefore they are allowed in this collection too.
