Description :

HALLS OF THE CLUELESS is the name of the first map I ever made for Doom. In
fact, it's probably the first thing I made for Doom, back in around 2006 or so,
since if I recall correctly this was what resulted of me farting around in Doom
Builder for the very first time with that PDF how-to guide by my side. It's not
a good map—getting 100% kills is probably impossible (although the map is very
easy to beat), and I clearly didn't understand how either teleporters or secret
tags were supposed to work—but it was made before I'd ever played any custom
wads or engaged with the community and so naturally has a bit of sentimental
value to me.

15 years later, Telemassacre posted a thread (which apparently I posted in)
which encouraged people to make and share remakes of their first maps. I
thought that was a neat idea and started to remake mine, getting about halfway
through before running out of steam. Well, I found a bit of extra steam lying
around and finally finished it, apparently just in time (more or less) for Doom
II's birthday. Happy 30th, Doom II! Can't believe you were a child when I
started this.

Beyond that, the maps pretty much speak for themselves. MAP01 is the original,
completely unchanged since whenever it was made, and MAP02 is the remake. I
might recommend HMP for a first playthrough—UV has the same monster count but
with fewer resources—although I imagine a lot of folks will do okay with UV.

Continuous play recommended.

====STORY====

The demons have taken over the UAC's laboratory in Hell! You, the elite super
marine, have been sent in to stealthily infiltrate and get to the heart of the
facility. Thankfully, demons are like cats and find walls super fascinating so
infiltrating won't be very hard. Who knows what evil and betrayal you will find
in there....
