64HDD 0.7alpha3

Version 0.5 only extensively supports the MSDOS file format.
Version 0.6 introduces optional long file name support to the MSDOS file
system and also introduces additional support for PRG, SEQ and
USR files contained on disk images.
Version 0.7 introduces creation of files on existing disk images. Also, block
read and write support fully works.

<<<LFNFILES 1.55 is required for 64HDD v0.6a3 and higher>>>

Code is being developed by Nicholas Coplin, ncoplin@lycos.com

Only Loading of PRG and SEQ files and directories is supported for the
MSD and disk image file systems. Limited block read and t&s error support
is provided for the disk image file system.

64HDD Professional additionally supports emulation of block read and T&S
error support within the native MSD/LFN file system thus breaking the size
barrier imposed by the disk image format yet maintains compatibility.

Refer to 64HDDXLS.PDF for information about
current capabilities and the timing of future releases.

#1 Disk status can be read reliably by a variety of Carts eg KCS POWER,
Epyx Fastload, and Final Cartridge III for example, but
        Freeze Machine can be dodgie
#2 If PC controller is not fast enough transmission may halt
(particularly at EOI). Maybe improved if real CBM drive is
connected to daisy chain. Remember to turn "on" this CBM drive!
#3 C128 with 1571 build-in sometimes corrupts directory viewing. Use
Load or connect a 1541 into the daisy chain. This is only so a
slower PC, the problem seems to disappear with a P100.
#4 1571 when used with a VIC20 sometimes will power-on in non-1541 mode
causing 64HDD problems (problem is the VIC is not truely 1571
        compatible)
#5 a: cannot be written to or directory read unless there is at least
one file on the disk. Work around is to have at least one file.

***Workarounds***
GoDot
- all active 64HDD drives up to #11 must be attached to disk images as
GoDot directly access the directory track (T18 emulation in the
  Professional version fixes this)
JPZ, JPX
- enter filename with a ,p after it. This program, and perhaps others
leaves off the the ,p when opening the file and it may not work in the
  MSDOS file system.
PARTITION AID (CBM version on 1581DEMO disk)
- program has been written such it doesn't cope with gaps in disk numbering,
you need to have a device "on" for every number between 8 and your 1581/D81
