Using ConfigFree Launcher

The ConfigFree launcher is a convenient function that triggers "SUMMIT", "Search for Wireless Devices", "Connectivity Doctor " and the "Profile" function.

1	Start ConfigFree Launcher

Starting the ConfigFree launcher from the Start menu
Windows XP:
-    Select Start > All Programs > TOSHIBA > Networking > "SUMMIT" or "Search for Wireless Device".
Windows 2000:
-    Select Start > Programs > TOSHIBA > Networking > "SUMMIT" or "Search for Wireless Device".

Starting the ConfigFree launcher from the ConfigFree Tray Program
There are the following two methods.
l    Place the cursor over the ConfigFree icon on the task tray and double click the left mouse button.
l    Place the cursor over the ConfigFree icon on the task tray and click the left mouse button, and then click "SUMMIT" or "Search for Wireless Device" in the pop-up menu.

2	About the functions of ConfigFree launcher

The following function can be displayed in ConfigFree launcher.

	-Option: Setting the options for ConfigFree launcher. -Close: Close the ConfigFree launcher. -SUMMIT(New Room): Create a new room -Meeting room: Join the meeting room now -Receive file A file to be received is indicated by this icon. -Wireless LAN: Display the wireless radar screen. -Bluetooth: Display the Bluetooth radar screen. -Connectivity Doctor: Start Connectivity Doctor. -Profiles: Start the Profile settings Dialog. -Q-connect Search for the Toshiba device (ex. Toshiba Wireless Projector) -Toshiba Wireless Projector This icon is displayed if the Toshiba Wireless Projector Utility is installed, set up for an ad hoc connection, and the wireless projector is powered on. Click this icon to connect/disconnect the Toshiba Wireless Projector and start /stop the program.

This screen is displayed when ConfigFree is not set up to "Search for Toshiba network devices" when the Q-connect button is clicked.

The selection screen on the left below appears when you click the close button and the "option" to "Auto-hide the ConfigFree Launcher" has not been enabled,
The dialog shown on the lower right appears when "Auto-hide the ConfigFree launcher" has been enabled and you click the close button.

3	Option settings

Open the Setting dialog
Click the option icon. Then the following dialog appears.

Launcher

-	Function list Check the boxes of the items to be displayed on the ConfigFree Launcher menu.
-	Location of ConfigFree Launcher Select the location of ConfigFree Launcher.
-	Run this program when Windows starts: Check here to run this program when Windows starts.
-	Keep the ConfigFree launcher on top of other windows Check here to keep the ConfigFree launcher on top of other windows.
-	Auto hide the ConfigFree launcher ConfigFree launcher hides automatically when not in use. The Launcher is displayed when the mouse is moved to the right (or the left) edge of the screen.
-	Display the ConfigFree Launcher button when the cursor is placed over the task tray icon.
-	Automatically pop-up the ConfigFree Launcher when there is a notification

General

-	Set as a screen saver Check here to execute Search for Wireless Device as a screen saver.
-	Text settings appear in screen saver mode Display this text in the screen saver.
-	Time until minimization Specify the time until the screen size is minimized automatically, when not being used (Exception : The SUMMIT conference room is not minimized automatically)
-	Quality The quality of the operation of Search Screen is specified.
-	Speed Specify the rotation speed of the nodes displayed on the screen.
-	Transparency Adjust the transparency of the search screen. The closer the slider is set to the "LIGHT" side, the more transparently the screen is displayed. If the value is set to "100 (Dark)", the search screen will be displayed opaquely.
-	Screen background Specify the JPG image file displayed as a screen background.

4	Sending a file with ConfigFree launcher

Use the Wireless LAN in the ConfigFree launcher

	Drag the selected the file and drop the file on "Wireless LAN" in the ConfigFree Launcher. The "Wireless File Transfer" program starts. Select the member and click the "Send" button.
	The receive file icon appears on the ConfigFree launcher on the receive side.
	Click the receive file icon. Then you can save the file.

Note:
Transmitted data can be protected with a password (please refer to Protect with a password for details).

Use Bluetooth in the ConfigFree launcher

	Drag the selected the file and drop the file on "Bluetooth" in the ConfigFree Launcher. The "Wireless File Transfer" program starts. Select the Bluetooth device and click the "Send" button.
	The Bluetooth receive window on the receive side appears. Then can you save the file.

Note:
Bluetooth file receive operation differs from Bluetooth device to Bluetooth device transfer operations. Please refer to the operation manual of the Bluetooth device for details.

When you send a file using Bluetooth, a password cannot be used.

5	SUMMIT icon right click popup menu

The following popup menu will be displayed if you right click the SUMMIT icon of the ConfigFree launcher.

	TURN SUMMIT ON/OFF
	Turns SUMMIT function on or off.
	Open SUMMIT
	Starts the main SUMMIT screen.
	Send file to SUMMIT member
	Transmits a file to a SUMMIT member. please refer to Sending a file with ConfigFree launcher for details.
	Send short message to SUMMIT member
	A short message is transmitted to a SUMMIT member. please refer to How to send a short message with ConfigFree for details.

6	How to send a short message with ConfigFree

A message and a handwritten character can be exchanged among SUMMIT members using the short message function from the ConfigFree launcher.

A short message screen

	The right click the SUMMIT icon of the ConfigFree launcher, and choose Send short message to a SUMMIT member from the popup menu.
	The short message screen is displayed.
	Input a message and chose a member.
	Click the Send button and send the message.

The following icons are displayed on the tool bar of the short message screen.

		Changes to text input mode.
		Changes to pen input mode (Small).
		Changes to pen input mode (Normal).
		Changes to pen input mode (Large).
		Changes to eraser mode.
		Undo only once.
		All messages are deleted.

The following operations can be performed on the short message screen.
Send	Send a short message
Option	The message background picture setup screen is displayed.
Close	The short message screen is closed.

Receiving a short message screen

	When a short message is received, the short message receive icon is displayed in the ConfigFree launcher.
	Click the short message receive icon, the received message is displayed.

The following operations can be performed on the short message receive screen.
Reply	A short message reply is created. The short message screen is started.
Copy	Copy the text message.
Close	The short message receive screen is closed.

7	Protect with a password

The short message sent by SUMMIT can be sent with a password.
In order to receive the file protected by a password, the member who receives the file has to input the correct password.

When you send a message, the password input screen is displayed.
When you want to use a password, input a password here.
