
 A few comments about ode2ptk.MOD ...

  Well, this STANDARD protracker MOD is meant only to fuck players and trackers
 around. I got sick of hearing here and there that 'this' player or 'this'
 tracker 'is the best ever'. So This MOD will show all these too loud talkers
 which ones are really the bests. If you want to code a replayer or/and if
 you've already coded one, then this MOD is also for you :).
  Now, I've made a few testings here and there to check by myself on the
 players and trackers I could find if my MOD would be played correctly...
  Before going any farther, you have to know that this MOD was entirely written
 by Asle / Lithium / ReDoX. I wrote this MOD under Protracker 3.15 (amiga).
 Please, Don't take what will follows personnaly, I certainly didn't made this
 MOD to make an ennemy of everyone !.

 so, Here are the result of my tests :


MIKMOD v2.02 (Mikmak/Unicorn)
 *  It simply refused to play this MOD !. No error message !.


CUBIC PLAYER 1.4 (Niklas Beisert)
 *  It fucks when it comes to some shit with Pattern Loops

     00--- -- E60--- -- E60...
     01--- -- ------ -- ---...
     02--- -- E66--- -- E66...

    well... CP will play the loop 3 times instead of 6 :(

     00--- -- ------ -- E60...
     01--- -- E60--- -- ---...
     02--- -- E63--- -- ---...
     03--- -- ------ -- E62...

    here, CP will notice only the second starting loop, the one in the left
   track, it'll notice the first one off course but will replace it with the
   second. So, I wont try to understand precisely what it tries to do but
   I'll tell you what it SHOULD have done : the left track loop should be
   executed 3 * 2 times ... this two loops ARE to be played ... there's the left
   one inside the one to the right.
 *  It plays a sample even if this sample doesn't exist !.


DUAL MODULE PLAYER 4.0 (Otto Chrons)
 *  It doesn't seem to support Jump to pattern and Break to a row at the same
  time, especially when the Jump to pattern has as option the current pattern.

     00--- -- B01--- -- ---...      let's suppose it is Pattern 0
     01--- -- B00--- -- D00...
     02--- -- B00--- -- D01...
     03--- -- B00--- -- D02...

   this small exemple explains how to make the pattern go upward instead of
  downward. Very good looking but heartlessly awful for the replayers...

 *  There's also the same problems about the Pattern loops option described
  for Cubic Player.

 *  Pattern delay is not supported.


XTC PLAYER 0.50b (Kilroy)
 *  there's the same pb as described for DMP about Pattern Jump.
 *  Also about Loop Pattern stuff described for Cubic Player.


FAST TRACKER 2.04 (Mr. H & Vogue / Triton)
 *  It simply forgets to play other options like Fine Volume Slide when there's
   a Pattern Delay

     01--- -- EB1--- -- EE5...

    The Fine Volume Slide Down won't be played here, thought it should be
   played five times !.
 *  There's another bug about the Pattern loop, but not one described before.
   I'll try to explain as good as I possibbly can !.

        ...
     09--- -- E60--- -- ---...
     0A--- -- ------ -- ---...
     0B--- -- ------ -- ---...
     0C--- -- E61--- -- ---...
        ...

    Here, we have a simple pattern loop, thought FT2 plays it correctly. note
   that this loop begins at row 09. Now, after playing that, when it comes to
   play the following pattern, it begins it at row 09 instead of row 00 !!.
 *  When I put a number of sample which doesn't exist it plays something all
   the same !.


SCREAM TRACKER 3.21 (Psi / Future Crew)
 *  Volume slide and every option where there's some volume slide included
   like 6 (vibrato + volume slide) or 5 (tone portamento + volume slide) are
   far too strong !. It uses the same formulas wether it plays a Protracker
   or a screamtracker file :(.
 *  Here also, the same problem about Pattern loops described for Cubic Player


INERTIA PLAYER 1.21 (Stefan Danes & damon von gorkom)
 *  a very small problem here ...

     09C-2 01 ------ -- ---...   for this ex, let's suppose the following:
     0A--- -- ------ -- ---...  smp 01 exists and 1f not !.
     0B--- -- ------ -- ---...
     0C--- 1F ------ -- ---...

    IPlay will play a sound nearly like smp 01 when it comes to row 0C...


RENAISSANCE MUSIC PLAYER 1.20 (Daredevil / Renaissance)
 *  It stops the sample before playing another, then the music is cut everytime
   where I change of sample in a track. That's very hard for ears :(
 *  As usual, the problem about Pattern loop described for Cubic Player


CAPAMOD 2.25 (Flap / Capacala)
  Hey ! ... I found no problem with my mod here :) ... it's far too rare for
 not saying it!


DIGITRACKER 2.3 (Proton / N-factor)
 *  When I put a number of sample which doesn't exist it plays something all
   the same !.
 *  As usual, the problem about Pattern loop described for Cubic Player


EXTREME TRACKER 0.7 (Baldric & Zyric / Extreme)
   Save some 'hearable' difficulties in the intricated pattern loops, it's
  quite all right with this tracker :).


X-TRACKER 0.300a (D-lusion)
 *  It's ABSOLUTLY unhearable when it comes to play an arpeggio option !!.
 *  The finetune doesn't seem to be supported.
 *  As usual, the problem about Pattern loop described for Cubic Player.
 *  Break to a Row is not supported.


TAKE TRACKER 0.9e (Dr. Zon & Twaddler)
 *  The option 6 (vibrato + vol slide) is not played correctly ... there's no
   more vibrato played :(
 *  As usual, the problem about Pattern loop described for Cubic Player.


PROTRACKER FOR GUS 0.8 (Phantom / Epical)
 *  As usual, the problem about Pattern loop described for Cubic Player.


MULTITRACKER EDITOR 1.01b (Starscream / Renaissance)
 *  As for ST3, it uses its own formulas for Volume slide and the like...
 *  As usual, the problem about Pattern loop described for Cubic Player.
 *  There's also the same problem as described for FT2 about Pattern Delay.


GUSMOD (GTSR) 2.11 (Cyberstrike / Renaissance)
 *  Extended speed is not supported.
 *  Volume 00 can be heard ?!?.

 Now, I'm finished with the testings. If you wanted more player tested, then,
tell me !. I don't mean to dislike the other player I didn't tested, it's just
that I couldn't put my hand on them on a short while, and I was certainly NOT
planning to make an entire life of testings !.

 Final word :
  hum ... The bugs described here, are certainly NOT the only ones for each
players !!!. I just wanted to bring up some proof is all !. Now, I know of
some other bugs for most of the players and tracker listed before. If some
coder wants more info, please contact me ... I really have not enough time to
devellop a full bug report here :(.
  It might be reconforting to know that quiet a few players and trackers on
amiga are fucking also with this MOD ... the worst is DELITRACKER ... I hate
Delitracker !.
  I just want to add that I'm certainly not the best fitted to give lessons
to the coders here, I just gave my opinion as a musician ... not the best,
but a musician all the same ;>.
